Tri-dosha refers to the relatively equal amounts of each dosha and as such those with a tri-doshic constitution experience more balance. Tri-doshic products are designed to balance all doshas. When it comes to skincare, the resilience and glow of a person’s skin is considered a reflection of their health. Also, the quality of skin is determined by a person’s Dosha, or each of three energies believed to circulate in the body and govern physiological activity.
All of our formulas have been formulated by fully accredited naturopaths and herbalists to ensure that the products produce a therapeutic effect.
Ayurveda is an ancient Indian healing system that literally means “the knowledge of the totality of life”. It is a practical and comprehensive body of knowledge that focuses on restoring balance within your mind, body and emotions ultimately resulting in an increase in overall consciousness. With Ayurveda, it is the small things that make the big difference, one of the main areas is daily body oiling with oils infused with herbs that have systemic adaptogenic and rejuvenative properties. These herbs nourish and strengthen the body.
Yes there is a general healing oil - we always recommend Vata oil for postpartum. The herbs and oils in this oil are very grounding, restorative and repairing for a women's skin and nervous system postpartum
After women give birth, no matter what their original constitution is, they are high in Vata due to the space left in their womb. As such it is highly recommended to use nourishing oils and warming foods, and reduce Vata deranging actions - including the intake of cold foods, stimulants, travel, and exposure to wind.
The key to postpartum care of the mother is to calm Vata. The mother is full of the mobile, light, dry, and cold qualities after the loss of energy and blood and fluids, not to mention the loss of a huge space in the abdomen (previously occupied by the baby). Add to that sleep deprivation and fatigue that comes from feeding and nourishing a newborn and the Vata dosha becomes the most important priority.
