Vegan Ayurvedic Dry Body Brush

$32.95
Tax included.

PURIFY | STIMULATE | CLEANSE

Vegan friendly and made of sustainable bamboo, this cactus sisal fibre and natural rubber nodule body brush is used for the ancient Ayurvedic ritual of Garshana - dry body brushing. The unique design allows full access to the back and the therapeutic combination of a firm, plant-based bristles with natural rubber nodules promotes lymphatic health.

Adding in a daily practice of dry skin brushing to your self-love routine can help open up the pores, stimulate lymph drainage and aid the body in releasing accumulated toxins from our system.

This technique is suitable for all body types but is particularly recommended for people who have signs of ama (toxins), which may include fatigue, sluggishness, feeling physical or mental dullness, constipation, and a taxed immune system.

WHY:

STIMULATES BLOOD AND LYMPH CIRCULATION

Dry body brushing encourages the natural detoxification process, brings an increases in blood circulation and the practice gently flushes out toxins without disturbing the body’s balance. The bristles stimulate the pores and open them up, this makes it easier for the body to sweat, which in turns reduces the amount of toxins flowing through the lymphatic system.

IMPROVES SKIN HEALTH AND EXFOLIATES

Dry body brushing is form of physical exfoliation that helps to shed dead skin cells, which can help improve skin texture and cell renewal. This also aids the skin in nutrient absorption by eliminating clogged pores, and healthy, breathing skin contributes to overall body health.

SUSTAINABLY CRAFTED AND VEGAN FRIENDLY

Unlike common dry body brushes, our brushes are vegan and cruelty-free, due to being bristled with cactus fibre, and are also highly sustainable as they are made using bamboo instead of wood or plastic.

WATCH HOW TO DRY BODY BRUSH AND SELF MASSAGE

HOW:

  • Before showering, start brushing at the feet using upward strokes. Use pressure that is comfortable for you, this will change the more frequently you brush.

  • Work your way up, taking care not to brush over injured skin such as cuts or burns. Use long strokes for the limbs and circular strokes around the joints.

  • Brush towards the heart and use gentle pressure in areas of delicate skin. Avoid face.

  • Follow each dry brushing session with abhyanga or self-massage using the Ibu Ayurveda Dosha oils, then shower to wash away dead skin cells.

  • If you don't have time for self-massage, then moisturize using a thin layer of body oil after your shower.

  • Dry brushing can be done as often as every day, or just 3 times per week.

SUSTAINABLE BAMBOO, CACTUS FIBRES, AND RUBBER NODULES - PACKAGED IN ECO-LUXE GIFT BOX.
Replace brush every 6-12 months or when bristles break down.
